Abstract
This study was performed to investigate the osseointegration on the interface between bone and dental casting gold alloy¡¯s implants. Some investigators presented that only fibrous integration in implant interface of precious metal implants was occured. The materials of dental implant must have biocompatibility and have no physical or chemical side effect. Implants which were made of pure titanium or titanium alloys had some chemical problem such as Galvanic current with suprastructure currently. So, we thought that there was no problem if dental casting gold alloy¡¯s implants had succeed osseointegration. This study used 99%, 86%, 70% gold composition implant as experimental group and titanium implant as contral group. After 4th and 8th weeks of implant implantation, experimental animals were sacrificed and histologic sections were made. All sections were examined by SEM, PM, LSM, and EPMA. Implants made of dental casting gold alloys occurred good osseointegration as titanium implants. Osseointegration were not depend on the gold composition in implant groups¡¯ dental casting gold alloys. Both groups, osseointegration were more completed in 8th weeks than 4th weeks. From the aboving results, dental casting gold alloy¡¯s implants had induced similar osseointegration to that of titanium implants. So if we make implant and suprastructure of dental casting gold alloys, Galvanic current and chemical corrosions would be suppressed.
